Apache type style bows made to order
The Apaches were among the fiercest warrior, as with the plains there were different Apache tribes and differences in their bows. The most common type of bow that I have seen from museums and collections seems to be the gull wing type bow. the most notable difference between the plains gull wing bow and the Apache, is that the Apache bows have a more circular setback in the handle. These bows look like a V when they are unstung. The woods preferred were mulberry, hickory and on rare occasions osage.
Handle options: your choice of the raw handle or with a leather grip. Usually these bows did not have any leather handles.
Color: Some of these bows were completely painted black, others were all red. I use natural pigments such as red ocher to achieve the same effect.
